Friends, today is my 48th birthday. The first verse that came to mind this morning was one of my favorites:
“This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
And I am rejoicing today!!
Rejoicing for what God has done in my life and excited for what this next year holds. God has blessed me with a most wonderful ministry. He has placed each of you in my life, and I am so very thankful.
Life started for me as an only child. I often felt lonely and longed for a sister. But it was never meant to be. Along the way, He blessed me with girlfriends…amazing girlfriends…who have been like sisters to me. But little did I know how God would answer the cry of this little girl’s heart who prayed for one sister!
He has blessed me with more sisters…sisters in Christ…than I could have ever imagined possible. Ephesians 3:20 sisters!!
He brought me to Proverbs 31 Ministries and a sisterhood who love Him and each other. Their heartbeat the same as mine…to minister to women. What a blessing it has been to serve alongside such godly women.
Then, with the publishing of my book Hidden Joy and my first on-line study, He brought more sisters into my life. Meeting many of you and leading the Hidden Joy study has changed my ministry and my life forever. It led me to do more on-line studies. Each one bringing more and more women into my life…women who are all seeking the same thing…more of JESUS, more of HIS WORD, more of HIS ACTIVITY in our lives.
Well, I am excited to announce He has laid a new study on my heart!! We will begin the second week of November. I will send an invitation soon as well as do an official blog post and video announcement. But I wanted to share it with you today…this day…my birthday!!
This new study is entitled “So That…” Living: Our Call to Action.
We will explore the “so that” Scriptures in the New Testament and cover the following areas:
God Spoke So That…
Pray So That…
Trials Come So That…
Live Your Faith So That…
This study that will bring God’s living and active Word alive in new and fresh ways. I cannot wait!
It begins here the second week of November and will run for five weeks. There is no cost to join. All you will need is an open heart, a Bible and a notebook or journal.

I love online studies because in my church we have a women’s study but the times don’t always coordinate with my schedule. Doing them online gives me a chance to do it on my own time as well as “meet” other women from all over!

I love online studies because they offer me flexibility in my crazy schedule and provide ways for me to interact and network with like-minded women all over the world! Crazy good how God has used the internet to proclaim His Word!
So excited to be starting another Bible study with you – you encourage diving into the Bible and it’s a fantastic way to learn. Why do I like online studies? Because my schedule right now makes it difficult to leave the house at night for another study, i’ve met a wide variety of women, and the teachers have been great!

Online studies are such a blessing when I am feeling like I am “the only one” who struggles, gets discouraged, etc. I appreciate the opportunity to connect with other women who are on this journey as well. Happy Birthday Wendy! I just celebrated my 43rd.

Online studies are CONVENIENT and I can participate without having to do my hair& makeup!;)
The pressures of ‘life’ are weighing so heavy right now… and that’s usually when I mess up and come “unglued”. Satan knows my weaknesses and really works on them… Our Doctor is concerned after seeing my son today, and is sending us to another doctor first thing tomorrow. PLEASE PRAY… I BELIEVE in the power of PRAYER!!! I really want to read through this book as a Bible study with some other believers so we can all grow more Christ-like! May it be so Lord, may it be so!

I love the online bible study! It is flexible around my schedule. It has allowed me to connect with some great women. And assignments keep me motivated. I can’t put it off if it has been assigned!
I love online studies bc it allows me to work at my own pace and be a part of a global community of women experiencing the same things I am.
I have never Participated in an online bible study. I am so excited to get started. I love the Proverbs 31 ministries. I am using it to encourage a special friend I work with.

I love online studies because I work in a home office and when I need a break I can tune into God’s Word with others around the world! What a blessing how God has chosen to use the world wide web. He is Great above all things!
I absolutely love online studies that I can do on my time frame which is usually late at night because I can not sleep. It also lets me see others comments and also the homework makes me keep up and not get lost. Also Happy Birthday Wendy, You do hold a special part of my healing.Thanks.

What DON’T I love about online Bible studies?!
I love the flexibility, meeting women from literally around the world, the leaders are AMAZING. Between Wendy’s studies here and the ones Melissa leads on her website, I am just in heaven. No, it’s not the same as being able to meet face-to-face, but here we still have an opportunity to meet heart to heart and spirit to spirit! When everyone shares what they’ve learned, it brings each study to deeper levels. There is just so much wisdom shared here!

As a very busy pastor’s wife and homeschool mom, mother, and grandmother, I need to be sure to keep myself challenged spiritually. Next to having my own personal quiet time each day, I consider this to be my most important way to keep myself growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I love being part of Proverbs 31!!
I love the flexibility of online Bible studies. It gives me a chance to go at my own pace and still not feel like I’m falling too far behind when my life gets busy.
I love online studies because I have 3 children, work full time and usually can’t make it to traditional studies… Online studies are just so convenient and I love connecting with women from different places. I also think sometimes the online studies eliminate some of the hesitation sooner people have to share their own stories and experiences. Self consciousness can easily be eliminated when you eliminate the pressure/competition sometimes present with face to face contact.
It helps w/schedule and I’m able to review later.
Wendy first of all I don’t need the Unglued book – I have two and currently taking the study. I just wanted to drop in and tell you what a blessing you are and how much I enjoyed you on the conference call last night. What a testimony! Congratulations on your your new study and I can’t wait to see the one on the names of God.
What I like about OBS studies – ALL of it! I wish I could take more than one and I am going to try it with your new study. Some days I am so engrossed with my study, my Bible reading, my two study groups and my leader groups I look up and it is time to start dinner. I love it and I want to be in it all the time – but I do get my work done and visits to my mom – I am just a better scheduler then I used to be and I don’t procrastinate so I get more done than I used to.
I love this blog Wendy. It is beautiful! For years I have prayed for one friend at church that I could trust, but have just never felt that. Even at work I had two very good friends and I could share somewhat with one, but at times I just couldn’t. I am way TOO PRIVATE. And at one time I could share with my mother in law, but found eventually the whole family knew anything I shared.
I have found with my OBS sisters I can share anything, I am loved, and they truly care because of whose they are. Thank you for this nugget today which enforces what I have been knowing the last few months. I love that word enforcing, don’t you?

How your words have blessed me today. I so wish I could have been in a room face to face with you all last night. I wanted to see your faces and pray over you in person. But I am so thankful the internet and cell phones allow this kind of ministry because we truly can minister across the world!! God is so amazing.

There is time to fellowship with like-minded ladies, and I can go at my own pace.

I love Online Bible Studies mostly for the community and the flexibility of doing it whenever I am able with other English speaking sisters in Christ. I really need to be able to do this, although I have the added pleasure to do women Bible studies here in Spanish, I really miss that face to face of an actual study so this is the next best thing.
I love P31 Ministry, your wonderful studies that you do and the team at P31 plus the excellent books that we’ve been privileged to read like “Hidden Joy”, “Unglued” and A Confident Heart. I have been so blessed by each one and Melissa’s OBS are the best! I’ve been following along with this NY Bestseller of Lysa’s but still do not have the book so I’ve only read the sample chapters in my Kindle. I really enjoy online bible studies, and yours specifically, becasue it allows me to continue to run my crazy days of kids, working, church, volunteering, and then I can come home at night and be refreshed and encouraged by your videos and the bible study you are leading us in. I truly value the time I can spend for my self to grow closer to God, but spending time in the Word, and prayer, and coming together with sisters from all over encouraging one another in our faith journey and struggles that life brings. I love online Bible studies because I can complete them when I’m not knee high with kids, husbands, anc chaos… nor feel like I’m leaving my husband to it all. I can do it when it is quiet and I can actually calm myself down… but it still helps me feel connected to other women.

Online Bible Studies really met a need for me. I am basically home bound & only one person from the church I had been attending contacted me after I was unable to attend. This allows me to have contact with other Christian ladies to study God’s word with on a regular basis.

Happy Birthday!!! I love on-line bible studies because not only am I growing closer to God, I have met so many wonderful ladies from all over the country. These beautiful sisters have blessed my life so much. Plus I learn stuff I can share with my church sisters.
I think my favorite part of being in an on-line bible study is the ability to do it in my jammie’s, on the couch, before anyone wakes up. Listening to the stillness of the house, broken only by the sounds of snoring upstairs, trains in the distance, and the occasional passing car, while gleaning truths from God’s word, or gathering insights from a great book, is the best way to set a day off on the right track.
Wendy, I love on-line Bible studies because it is awesome to see so many women seeking God and having fellowship together in and through His Word!. It is amazing that so many from such diverse backgrounds can come together in unity and love to learn about God’s saving grace and share experiences we all can relate too and learn from. We are not alone or small in numbers as our enemy would have us believe. Thank you for sharing God’s message to this generation through focused studies and leading us into the very words of God so our hearts can be changed! Happy Belated Birthday.

First Happy Birthday! After being diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, I will never again NOT celebrate a birthday! (Almost two years cancer free now, my thanks to God!) Secondly, thank you for providing an online resource for women who may be isolated for whatever reason and this be the only way they have contact with other believers or women in like situations. I work two jobs and my husband and I recently moved to a new state and moved my mother in with us. Life is complicated right now to be sure. I haven’t found a church yet. Prayer, Bott Radio and online fellowship is all I have right now to help me focus myself!

Being a Mom and running a small Dayhome can make it difficult to get out to our women’s group at church, especially when there are sick kids. Having an online study helps me stay focused when I am at home, and gives me a little extra encouragement on the weeks I can go to my women’s group. I look forward to being part of the online study and seeing what God has for me through it and how I can be a better servant, wife, Mom and friend.

Happy Birthday, Wendy! I got to hear Lysa speak at Catalyst Conference in Atlanta last week about conflict resolution. I really want to read her book UNGLUED! I have already seen how much it would help my life, just in a week back to reality! Honestly I haven’t tried an online study as of yet. But, oh my, time would be a secondary reason for me; gas & use of the car would be a big reason I don’t make home studies so I wasnt to get plugged into an online study soon.

I have signed up for several online studies, but haven’t seemed to be able to actually participate. I like the idea of being able to “stop by” anytime and the larger community that’s possible online. (I can’t image fitting thousands of people into my living room….lol). Thank you, Wendy, for all that you and the other ladies at P31 do.

I love on line Bible studies because of the convenience of being able to work it in to my schedule at a time (like 5am) that’s right for my being… at work on lunch, or during insomnia… it all works. And I can keep the study for future reminders of key points, encouragement and refreshment in a convenient location in my email study folders.

I have so enjoyed reading your comments. So many GREAT reasons for participating in on-line studies, all revealing that we as women have a deep desire to be in the Word and to be in fellowship with other women, and we will gravitate toward that which allows us to meet those needs.
I am praising God today for taking something that I once believed was “evil,” the Internet, and using it for good. We can be fed His Word and experience sweet fellowship with women in the next state and across the oceans through this contraption called a computer. Something only God could do!!

Just last weekend, I went to a women’s retreat and was totally blown away by realizing how awesome GOD truly is!!! While at the retreat, I was able to let go of a lot of guilt and bitterness that I had been holding deep inside of me for a very long time. I didn’t realize how much of it there was. By coming to HIS throne of grace with confidence and letting it go, JESUS came to right where I was, with HIS wonderful mercy and grace and showed me things that I never realized about my misguided guilt. I now have a new closeness with JESUS… a new beginning or rather a new continuation of my life in CHRIST. I feel that this study will be a useful tool for the continuation of that new beginning. I am at a new phase of my life (in the spiritual world and also the physical world – my husband and I are brand new empty nesters) and I know that GOD has some mighty big plans for me. I want to participate in this study “so that” it will help me realize those plans.
“Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

I am looking forward to this Bible study because I do want my life ot count for something and I do hunger and thirst after God and His Word.
I have to admit that I have signed up for an online Bible study before but did not follow through because I did not know how to do the study online; and life happened.
