I just love being a part of Proverbs 31 Ministries.  We received an e-mail last week informing us that Women of Faith has graciously given us  tickets to the Charlotte Women of Faith Conference the weekend of October 19-20, 2012, and we want to share them with you!!  So throughout this week several of the speakers on our speaker team, including me, will be giving away two tickets on our blogs!

If you have not been to a Women of Faith Conference, it is a wonderful place to fellowship with other believers, hear inspirational speakers, sing your heart out, laugh and cry all at the same time.   This year’s theme is “Celebrate What Matters.”  The entire weekend focuses on God’s great love for us.

    Thank you so much for letting me ride on your coattail. Your divine appointment in the midst of a typical errand lit my heart on fire!

    One of my favorite verses about God’s love is Romans 5:8. I tend to feel heroic when I do an act of kindness for someone who irritates me. BUT GOD… Who else would shower love like this… Who would sacrifice His Son… to the point of a horrible, unimaginable death? And for SINNERS? For people who would turn their backs on Him? It’s a love beyond my comprehension. I’ll spend my entire life trying to understand the magnitude!

    How exciting Women of Faith will be in your hometown! I wish I could be there! But, I’m certainly hoping for She Speaks 2013! I love you, friend!

    Isn’t it great to know our God is rejoicing over us with GLADNESS, quieting us with His unfailing love, and singing over us?!? If that doesn’t make you smile and feel loved, I don’t know what will!

    Although maybe not a traditional “love” verse persay, I LOVE this verse because Moses says show me your glory, and God says this is it! This is what I am famous for! And even the last part though it can sound intimidating, just lets us know that He is a just and faithful God!!! And He LOVES us!

  8. You know I don’t live anywhere near Charlotte, but here’s the first verse about God’s love which came to mind…

    He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. ~ Matthew 28:6

    Three little words…”It is finished.” God’s greatest love story wrapped up in the cross where Christ willingly spilled His innocent blood for the sake of washing us clean of our sin. But if that were the end of the story, His death would mean nothing, He would be like any other man on earth who has tasted death…sooooo

    PRAISE GOD! Christ is RISEN! Our sins that were as scarlet are now white as snow! His love knows NO bounds! Our King laid down His crown of glory to pick up a crown of thorns, because of His great love for us!

    I have wanted to go to a WOF Conference for years, but even if I don’t win, this is a great blog to participate in! Two of my faves are below.

    Proverbs 13:24 Those who love their children care enough to discipline them. (NLT)

    This speaks to me right now because my teen and I have been struggling for a little over a year to see “eye to eye”. I have to keep reminding myself (and her) that I discipline her because I LOVE her. I know she doesn’t understand now, but she will thank me one day for being and involved (sometimes overly involved) parent. Seeing changes with prayer!

    Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.     This verse just says it all about love.

    I love how your blog it encourages me, and well I am going to women of faith this weekend in Orlando Fl. I’m actually serving as a volunteer, been to so many woman of faith conferences, I love, <3 them. Any how just wanted to say Thank-you Wendy for being so authentic and so real. One of my favorite verse is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6). Oh what's really funny is someone sent me a chain letter on sharing verses todayin my email. And then I had a devotional that said let's read a scripture and meditate on it. As the Pastor was speaking it. I guess God really wants us to mediate on his words. What revelation today. Praise the Lord!!! He is worthy to be praised morning/noon and night. Amen!! :)

    What gives us the right to praise a mighty God?
    He does. His sons blood.
    I’m a worship leader and it’s is my honor to sing before others. To share in the blessing of our NEED for Jesus, to bare my heart open to my God before His children.
    He is our help and that is why we can sing during the storms, during the joys, during the current, durning our journey. He is our protector. It’s in understanding our need to be COVERED that gives us the ability to sing through LIFE.

    Although I do live far away, if I won tickets, I would do my best to attend. I believe God will work out all the details. I am going to include two of my favorite verses on God’s love because I could not choose between them.:-)
    Jeremiah 31:3…I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
    God drew me before I knew Him when I was walking in sin and unaware of His great plan for each of us. He continues to draw me to Himself and to His word.

    Psalm 103:13-14 Like a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him.For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust.
    Although the word ‘love’ is not mentioned, these verses characterize God’s compassionate love for us. I am so thankful that in my imperfection, He still loves me.

    There are many…John 3:16 always comes to mind as does Corinthians, but 1 John 4:7-21 is what’s on my heart today. So much truth in this passage! Just a couple verses – “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (11 and 12)

    God’s love is so good, as the verses above prove, but if we want that love to be made complete we must share it with others. He’s asking me to do just that with my little people today!!!

    For me this is the one verse that truly shows God’s love: John 3:16 NIV – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

    So many wonderful submissions- I wonder how you’ll choose? Thinking, baking and reflecting today on God’s purpose for me. My twitter account led me here…oddly enough the WoF is being held in Charlotte, which is the home town of a very close friend who recently lost her 3.5 year battle with colon cancer. She would have gotten us tickets even in failing health. Some time ago, Psalm 143:8 stood out for me and really spoke to me. “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” Even though I haven’t been consistent this verse grinds me back to a halt and reminds me who needs to be in charge. Nothing else matters…not nice clothes, cars or money in the bank. Life matters. Guess what? God makes our life matter. We matter to him. He matters to us. That’s my reminder verse. -thank you

    Not in a position to attend the WOF Conference but want to share a scripture that has been very important in my life. Lamentations 3:22-23 in the NIV 1984.

    “‘Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

    I have found God faithfully provides the love, grace, and mercy we so desperately need and desire.

    I just love keeping up with you on your blog. Pray for you often and it makes me smile just to think about you. What a sweet giveaway! :-)

    soo many I love on God’s love. A few years ago while living in Nepal I memorized Romans chapter 8. WHat a powerpacked chapter on God’s love .. especially that it starts out in Romans 8:! there is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    I love the end of it to.. 36 and 37 NOTHING can seperate you from the Love of God in Christ Jesus.. neither death nor life, nor the present nor the future, height nor depth, .. NOTHING .. that’s worth GLORY shouting!

    I just LOVE my Jesus, so thankful He was there alongside me, interceding for me and my family when I didn’t have the words or ability to pray. He answers prayers today; He answered prayers for my family in a mighty way! He works miracles today; I know this because He performed a miracle in my family, very recently. July 2010 I moved to a new town and immediately lost my 3rd baby to miscarriage, basically because I was careless and drank a glass of wine to help me go to sleep, even though my husband told me not to and I had an awful “feeling” about it; turns out I was pregnant and didn’t know it; I was nursing my 2nd baby full time, and lacking sleep, and I honestly didn’t think there was a chance I could be pregnant because an infertility specialist told me that I would need infertility drugs to get pregnant (when i was 13). I saw my first 2 as miracles; all babies are. Last Nov I was diagnosed with a bipolar 1, after a mandatory 24 hour stay in the psychiatric ward at Forsyth; there was an obviously Christian lady there, on staff, who The Lord used to minister to me, lots of blessings followed, but it wasn’t an easy recovery. Now, almost 1 year later, I am finally confident that Jesus LOVES Me, and that confidence has made all the difference in my life.

    This is the angel speaking to the women at the tomb…”Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, “He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”
    It reminds me of the good news of the Gospel. It reminds me of Easter Sunday, my favorite holiday of celebration when the pastor says, “He is risen!” and we answer, “He is risen indeed.” Wow, if we treated every Sunday like Easter Sunday how awesome would that be, the joy and celebration. But lastly, and most importantly for me, I love how the angel said to go tell the disciples AND PETER. I feel like it should say, “Go tell my followers and Kristy.” It is a constant reminder of His grace to me and how much I need it…that I am not forgotten but am loved beyond measure.

    Oh that I would pause before I speak and meditate daily on His word so that my heart will always be right with Him, and that I will always be right with those around me. It is so easy and we make it so difficult. If we just focus on who is Really is and whose we are, life is not so complicated. Love that verse.
