Sweet friends, I have awakened the last few days so thirsty…at first I thought it was the heat we have been experiencing in North Carolina. I drank water but felt no relief. My thirst still remained.
As I stood in worship on Sunday morning, I realized that my thirst goes much deeper.
I needed to hear from God. I needed Him to speak. I cried out, “Word of God, speak!”
And speak He did.
As we sang our first song, tears streamed down my cheek. I knew it was not just my physical thirst that needed quenching. My need was deeper. I longed to be filled with so much more than water. I needed LIVING WATER!!!
Our pastor preached a powerful message and when I left our service that day…
God had spoken.
I knew I had been filled…with hymns, songs, and spiritual songs…prayer…and most powerfully the Word.
Are you thirsty today?
Sweet friend, take a few minutes to listen to Mercy Me cry out to God just as I did, “Word of God, speak.” I love the song. I know the song. But my friend Kristi Seat reminded me this morning of this video when she posted it in our Proverbs 31 On-Line Bible study.
I am praying for all of us…
Word of God, speak! Speak into our hearts, our minds… our hurts, our doubts, our tears, our trials, our pain, our celebrations, our praises and our joy. Give us wisdom and discernment through Your Holy Spirit to understand what we hear. We bear Your Name, Lord! Fill us to all fullness with Your Holy Spirit. Refresh and renew us today. We want to hear Your voice! We long for more of You! We love You! Word of God, speak! We ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I know you are busy, so thank you for stopping by. I pray God will speak in sweet and personal ways to you as you seek to hear His voice.
Let’s encourage one another in the Word today. If you have a moment, please share your favorite verse or passage with us today!
