  1. Would really love to read the book, going through a lot of emotional pain and confusion about the direction of my current relationship. would really appreciate a prayer. thanx for the inspiring words

    • Praying now Proverbs 3:5-6…”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.” Praying for God to direct your steps and affirm and confirm them as you seek Him for wisdom and guidance in your relationship. Praying HIS will be done and for His peace to fill you and comfort you as you follow His leading.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

      • Thank you Wendy, just finished reading the first chapter of your book and I am more convinced that I should live my life with an attitude of purpose as Christ did…He die so that I could be free to receive every blessing that God ever made to His children. As I reflect upon my life I see the His grace present in every chapter of my life and for that I am grateful to Him. I am also not that worried now about how things will turn out because I am confident He will direct me in the path that leads to His will!

  2. Judy Redden says:

2 Tim 3:16, 17 All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, SO THAT the man of God (woman of God) may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. The greatest story ever told is given to us by the breath of God. I read this scripture this morning while thumbing through your book. It just reminded me that even though The Bible is a story, it’s also alive! If I just open it and really think about all the words that are there and how they can truly speak to you if you open your heart to them. I am signed up for the Bible Study “so that” I can continue to hear God speak to me, teach me, rebuke me, correct and train me in righteousness.
    Blessings to all

    • Amen, Judy!! Thank you for sharing this great Word from the Lord with us today!! And I’m excited you will be joining us for the OBS!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  4. Natasha Carpenter says:

I feel so inspired by you Wendy, Thank you for your devotion to changing the lives of us all and the encouragement you give through your calling.

  5. I have already signed up for the OBS and am so anxious to get started!

  6. I am signed up and looking forward to sharing God’s word together. I praise God for a great trial that He carried me and my family through about 9 years ago. I had been a Christian for many years but I learned to truly lean on, rely on, trust in the Word of God during that trial. God used a Bible Study, “When Godly People do Ungodly Things” and many Christian friends to open my eyes to His Truth, my faults and keep my family together. My husband has been sober for 8 years, giving God all the glory and loving his family. Praise God! We work with high school students at our church and have used our past as a testimony to help young people who are struggling with life. God has put some very special people in our lives. My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Thank you so much for your ministry and allowing God to work through you. Susan

    • Susan, I LOVE your story and testimony and how God is using it for your good and His glory!! I know it will bring much encouragement and hope to many in your circumstances.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  7. AdeleAlys Spil says:

    Yes…already registered.

    Favorite do that verse…John 4:15

  8. Dona Haggerty says:

I just signed up to participate in your P31 Bible Study “Living So That”.
I want to learn and study and be changed by God.
I really cannot afford to purchase the book right now and so I am hoping beyond hope to win a copy of Wendy’s book, “Living So That”.
    Thank you!

  9. I signed up today. I am in the midst of my own trial and I know God will work all things out for good. I have certainly learned his ways are not mine. I just pray the wisdom I learn from all this will help me to be an example to my daughters.

    • Angela, I am thrilled that you will be joining us. God promises that when we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him. I have no doubt because you are seeking the Lord for answers right now He is going to show up in a BIG way and am praying that for you as you spend time with Him in His Word in this study! And you WILL be an example to your girls as you seek God in His Word for wisdom and direction.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  10. I signed up for the OBS a week or so ago – looking forward to starting it. This will be my first one ever;)

    Marcia.

    • Marcia, you will LOVE our P31 OBS study. Amazing leaders and women to journey alongside you through the book and God’s Word. so excited you are joining us.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  11. I have not yet signed up for the study but if I win the book, I’d love to participate!
I am asking for prayer for a ‘baby’ ministry that my husband and I are in the launch stage of right now. Romans917.com is our newly developed baby and we believe that God is going to use it to his glory; please pray that he will and that we always remember it is he not us that makes the difference.

    God bless and thank you,
    Michaela Gates

    • Praying for God’s hand of blessing to be upon your new ministry Michaela. As you seek to spread His Hope and His Name in the Kingdom with humble hearts and open hands, I pray He will bless and establish the work of your hands and draw many to receive hope and healing.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  12. My husband and I could use some prayers, please. We’re struggling in so many ways because of his dependency on alcohol.

    • KT, I am praying for you and your husband. I pray that you do not give up hope and continue to trust God and His perfect timing. Claim Proverbs 3:5-6 daily and ask God to direct all your paths. My husband is a recovering alcoholic, Praise God, he has been clean for almost 9 years. No, it was not an easy road but I thank God for what we went through to bring us to where we are today and I pray we keep our eyes and heart fixed on Him. One verse that God put in our hearts that really helped my husband and my family was:
Don’t be afraid. Remember the LORD, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives (and your husbands) and your home. Nehemiah 4:14 God loves you and your husband and will never leave you. Hang on to His promises.

    • I stand in agreement with Susan’s prayer…praying for God to break this stronghold of addiction in the name of Jesus and bring your husband and your relationship into full and complete freedom!! May God break every chain that binds his heart, his body and his mind!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  13. I’m signed up and SO EXCITED!!

  14. How about an entire string of trials….within a 3 year period my (now ex-)husband left me, my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Had it not been for my divorce, I would never have sought after God. As a result of my faith through my cancer, my parents began attending church with me. My Dad developed a relationship with Christ before he passed away. God uses all things to further His kingdom. I still do not know why I lost my Dad (on this earth), but now I have the faith that I will be with him again with our Father.

    • Judy, what a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness and how sometimes although our circumstances don’t change our perspective changes. God carries us through and does an amazing work not only in our lives but also in the lives of those we love!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  15. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths.
I have already signed up for the Bible Study “so that” I can grow closer and have a more personal relationship with God. I want to hear God when he speaks to me and I want to do what God has created me to do for Him.
Blessings to all that are doing this Bible Study and all those who worked on this Online Bible Study.
I have an unspoken prayer request..Thank you so much for your prayers.

    • Barbara, God knows the cry of your heart. I pray that He meets you where you are and provides great comfort and peace and speaks directly into your circumstances with His living and active Word.

And thank you for your prayers of blessings. They are a gift during this busy time.

      blessings,

      Wendy

  16. John 12:46
I have come into the world as a light, SO THAT no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

  17. Hi, I have signed up for the Bible Study “so that” I can better hear God’s voice.

My prayer request is for my children. They are in a place right now where they are not believers. It’s hard because they were raised in the faith and were very active in church prior to becoming adults. I pray that they will open their eyes to the Lord again and that He will work through them.

    Thank you.

    • Lauren, we stand in agreement with you…that the Lord will TENDER your children’s hearts back to Him and REMIND them of His great love for them and the truths and promises tucked deep in their hearts. May He bring harvesters across their path to speak into their lives and point them to Jesus once again!! He hears the cry of your mother’s heart, sweet friend. Remember He is faithful to complete every work He begins!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  18. After meeting my biological father at the age of 46 I began to come to know Jesus as if almost by magic. It was as if meeting my earthly father somehow brought me to my heavenly one. And if my dad here on earth could love me this much, I knew God’s love for me was infinite.

This realization also led me to realize many other things, most importantly and also painfully, that I have been living in an abusive marriage for many years.

I have gathered courage with God’s help and am leaving this destructive marriage. Each day I look for something to bolster me, and today it was your devotion. I hope one day that things that trigger me now will be minimal or nonexistent. I have faith that God can heal me. There is no such thing as blind faith…my eyes are wide open!

    • Lee, you are walking as the Lord called Joshua to do, “be strong and courageous.” I am so proud of you, and I pray God will speak into your life each and every day with words of direction and encouragement, hope and direction. He will never leave you or forsake you and knows the next steps on your journey. Lean in, press close and open your listening ears to hear His voice. He is your Defender, your Shield and your Strong Tower. I pray He will surround you with loving believers who will walk this journey out with you. He is faithful and will bring you out the other side with a beautiful testimony to help others.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  19. I’m signing up for the class today. Looking forward to it.

  20. God has sent me many trials over my life, but recently has been the hardest, yet the one that has drawn me closest in my faith. My mother has recently been diagnosed with dementia and it is a very frustrating, trying experience. I am learning to listen and not react. I am praying more and more for small things that I know will make a difference and even though this is a disease without cure, God has still been there for me and I see the results. Shortly before this all happened, I was introduced to a wonderful mom’s group at a local church and I am so grateful for their support and friendship. Meeting them prior to this diagnosis helped me form bonds with others and now they are there for me as we all are for each other. I thank God for leading me to this wonderful group of ladies.

    • Wendy, isn’t it amazing how God prepared the way for you!?! He promises to go before us and to stand behind us. And in the journey He carries us when we need it most. I pray He will continue to minister to your heart in the lonely and frustrating times. I pray you will be filled with so much of His love and compassion that it will generously overflow onto your mother when she needs it most!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  21. Isaiah 41:10, So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
My husband and I are going thru tough financial times, but my God is taking care of us. Please pray for my adult son who has gone thru a divorce and has walked away from church.

    • Janice, praying Jehovah, God our Provider will provide for your every need through this financial struggle. May you see His hand at work in your midst in creative and personal ways that you know it is Him!! I also pray the Lord will tender your son’s heart to His Love and draw Him back to His heart.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  22. I have told you all this {so that} you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

I have signed up for the Bible Study and am excited to begin!

  23. Veronica Russell says:

Hi! I signed up for the Living So That Bible Study this morning. I’m looking forward to learning more about what God wants me to do in my life “so that” I can be a better wife, mom and friend, and most important, a better daughter to my Heavenly Father. Due to our financial situation, I am not able to purchase your book at this time, but hopefully in several week. I pray I will not miss out too much.

Please pray for my husband and his battle with diabetes, our finances/debt, and spiritual growth for my two sons, my husband and myself. I thank you for giving of your time to share your knowledge of God’s Word with me. God bless you and your family!

    • Veronica, so thankful you will be joining us! Praying now for each of your requests and trusting El Roi, the God Who Sees, will be with you in the midst of each one, working and answering.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  24. I’ve read the devo this morn and I’ve been trying to pray and reorder my thoughts. I don’t have an experience like Wendy’s in my past or present. However,I do have trials-I really asked God to help me be who HE wants as I walk the path of a lot of physical pain and as I walk the path of marriage trials-I don’t know what to do or say!My marriage is great to those who see the outer image but reality is my heart hurts and I have lived years with emotional pain and my husband just doesn’t change. I even dug out my Stormie O. Book about praying for husband’s and truly prayed (still do) for me to change and be who God wants-but sometimes life hurts…ALOT!!!please pray for healing emotionally spiritually and mentally of my husband and for him to not hate certain people. Please pray I’d keep my mouth shut when I should and if I talk, to be godly and to not return anger for anger. Also, I need to teach my boys God’s ways and its hard b/c sometimes they see a fun & loving dad who plays and prays with them then they also see and hear the angry daddy-the one wbo says terrible things about people and makes me cry. Oh God in heaven I need you desperately , I need to know you are here and will help me and make me act , say, live by God’s Words matter how much hurt I’m feeling.
..I long to be in a whole marriage but it’s not God’s will for now ’cause it’s been almost 7 years of ups downs and emotional manipulation and its hard cause I love my husband and sometimes he is so loving …oh I’m carrying on sorry …please just pray if you would for wisdom and wholeness of body mind and marriage and for kids to be Godly no matter what and not be affected negatively.

    • Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sorry for your heart break. I join you in praying for God to blow a fresh wind of love into the heart of your husband. I pray for the Lord to tender your husband’s heart to genuinely feel and receive love…yours and God’s. And I pray if there is a deep wound somewhere in your husband’s heart unknown to all and maybe even him that God would expose it in a gentle way and pour out His healing balm of Gilead to heal and restore it. I pray that through your love, the light of Christ would shine brightly into your home and your marriage and your family!! Praying and believe the God who makes all things possible will bring healing to your marriage and restore your family to wholeness and JOY!!

Below is a link to a marriage prayer on my blog. I pray it equips you as you pray for your marriage. Maybe even invite your husband to pray it. :)

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  25. Good to hear from you today! I have signed up for the study and am looking forward to it!! As I thought about trials I was reminded how God has worked through my battle with depression years back and the grief as I lost my grandma, but my mind settled on a different kind of trial. The trials that come daily in life, marriage and parenting – the fights, disobedience, change in plans, spilt milk, messes, etc… These in no way compare to the big trials, but they are trials that God works through to mold me and change me as He teaches me to persevere. On a morning that’s had a few of these trials I needed that reminder!! Thanks!

  26. Greetings! While I have not been through a trial such as Wendy has been, I am going through a trail now that hurts, confuses, bewilders me and more. Your devotion really spoke to me this morning. My “trial” is a strained relationship with my beautiful 17 year old daughter. I just can’t find the balance between being able to be the mom and training her for the time she leaves the nest, and loosening the reigns, as it were. I hope that makes sense. Maybe I try to control too much and won’t “Let God” enough. I do know it is not all my daughter. I’ll not give up. Through this relationship with my daughter, I have learned more about God’s unconditional love for me. I love my daughter unconditionally, but… Your prayers would be appreciated. I would like to share James 1:2-4 from the Amplified Bible:

“Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.”

Wow! I want to find more “So That” verses. Thank you for what you have shared in this devotion. God continue to bless you richly!

    • Cindy, I journeyed through this same battle with my daughter when she was a few years younger. I have written a Bible study that came out of that time. I would love to share it with you. I think it would bless and encourage you and equip you with Scriptures to pray. Please e-mail me at deuteronomysix@aol.com and I will tell you more about it.

And I am praying for the Lord to grant you great wisdom and discernment to know when to let go and when to hold tight. But letting go is a GOOD thing, especially when you gave a girl who has proven her trust through the years (most of the time). :)

      Blessings,

      W

  27. Ashley Ford says:

I have signed up today and am looking forward to the study. A few years ago, I quit my job to be home with our first child. We lost our house and had to file bankruptcy soon after. I thought my life was over. I had these “happily ever after ” thoughts of a house with children and the whole package. But The Lord knew my heart wasn’t in the right place and it was all gone, the house and my “expectations” for the future. But The Lord had to strip away all of me so I could see Him moving in my life. Now we rent a house I love, have two sons and a church family that we didn’t have before whom I consider exactly that..family. I thought my life was destroyed but God used it and now I am at peace and not seeking what the world can offer me but what God had in store.

  28. Orenda Smith says:

Good Morning :) I have all ready singed up for the “Living So That” and I can not wait to get started :) I had to get the book on kindle but I would love to win one :) I prefer the book in my hand kind better. God Bless

  29. I have already signed up and look forward to the new study.

  30. Christal Boswell says:

I signed up today for the ” Living So That” online Bible Study today and am so excited this is offered. I attend Bible studies through my church but there is an break between the spring and fall study and this will cover it perfectly! :) Thank you so much for everything that this site makes available!

  31. Mandy Frank says:

I am planning to sign up for the new online study of “Living So That.” I haven’t yet purchased the book but I am excited about the opportunity to approach God’s word in a new and fresh way. I have had many trials in my life but it is my faith in God, knowing that he never leaves us or forsakes us, that has gotten me through it. Right now, I am in the midst of raising teenage girls and I don’t always know the right thing to do with them. It is my prayer that I can release them to God and know that he loves them more than I do and that they will see that and live in a way that is honoring to them. That they will learn from their mistakes and that their mistakes won’t have life altering consequences, but instead, show them the direction they would rather go. Thank you for encouragement.

    • Amen, Mandy. Beautiful and perfect prayer for the mom of teen girls to pray. I raised mine and she is now 20. I prayed many of those prayer and God has been so faithful to answer them. I know He will do the same for you!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  32. Sweet friend,
The timing of your devotional was incredibly God-authored in my life! Your words are a breath of hope as I look at the “So That” in trials. Thank you for living life with beautiful transparency. Thank you for taking the wisdom God has revealed to you to bring comfort and hope to all of us around you.
    Love you!

  33. Thank you for the devotional. I’m hoping to read your book for sure. My prayer request is for fertility. We have suffered 2 miscarriages in the last 6 months after spending the previous 4 years trying and wondering if we would ever get pregnant. The losses have proved difficult for my heart and my faith. I’m trying to remember that trials come so that. So, I needed to hear what you wrote.

    • Sweet Megan, I pray the God of All Comfort pours down His comfort and grace as you grieve and morn what could have been. God promises “Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” I also pray for a miracle…for God to touch your union with your husband in a spirit-filled powerful way to begin new life that sustains itself to full term!!

InScribed Studies has a book coming out by my friend Amanda in the fall entitled Barren Among the Fruitful. I think it would bless you and speak to your hurt in a powerful way. Please look for it when it comes out.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  34. Battling cancer for the 4th time in 8 yrs. Get a little weary some days. Sounds like this book might be just what I need to refuel my tank! Thanks for the offer!

    • Debbie, praying the Lord continues to strengthen you on this journey! What a courageous woman you are. May His healing balm wash over you and heal every part of your body!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  35. Lisa McDonald says:

Wendy, thank you for being real and sharing something so difficult. You are such a blessing to others who have similar heartaches in their life.

I’m already signed up for the P31 OBS and have purchased both Living So That and Hidden Joy.

My prayer today is to thank God for bringing me to you and your story, and to bless all of us who have been touched and healed by your words.

    God Bless.

  36. I have signed up for the study. Facing the stuggles of facing childhood trauma for the 1st time – stuff that is over 40 years ago which I never allowed myself to face. Stuggling to see those events in the correct perspective & understand what the Bible says about my role in childhood abuse. I understand, as I allow God to help me look back that those events have had a profound impact on how I view God & how I interact in current relationships. I also understand that those events have caused me to make some sinful decisions along the way & engage in hidden, but destructive activities that nobody knows about. I have confessed and turned from those activities and know i’m forgiven, but still feel guilt. I also remain very confused about how guilty I am – or not – for the past “abuse.” I live in a fairly remote area where I don’t have access to a female christian (Biblically based) counselor, so i feel quite a lone with nobody to talk to who i feel can understand and help me gain God’s perspective. It’s just not something i know how to talk about, and am also not sure that i can be accepted if I do. I pray that i can find some peace. I have spent a great deal of time in God’s Word & reading books – more than i ever have before, but still feel almost constant inner-turmoil. Pray that i will find someone who understands to come along side with Godly/Biblical counsel.

    • Amanda, first I want you to hear loud and clear that YOU ARE FORGIVEN for your past sins and mistakes due to the choices you made…choices born out of your brokenness and pain. When you confess them, they are gone as for as the east is from the west forever!! And the crimes committed against you have not left a mark on you…for with Jesus the old is gone and the new has come!! Nothing and no one can touch the part of you OWNED and BOUGHT by God. Those who live in Christ need not feel any condemnation or guilt. Those feelings are not from God. BELIEVE these truths and walk in them. Soon your mind will catch up with the truth your heart knows and you will be FREE!!

      Blessings,

      wendy

  37. I Loved today’s devotion. I needed to hear words of assurance and that my situation is only temporary. I can no longer question why God brought me to this point but to keep looking forward to see his plan for me.

  38. I believe God used the trials and struggles of infertility to bring me to a deeper dependence on Him and to recognize that He needs to be the center of my life, not just a part. I believe He is also allowing me to use the infertility and the adoption we are in the midst of right now to be a great testimony of God’s love and faithfulness. Please pray for patience for us, as this is a long process, and please pray that we will continue to trust and follow God’s plan for us and our son. Thank you.

    • Crystal standing in agreement with you now for all you have prayed and praising God for your beautiful perspective that comes from a heart surrendered to Jesus!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  39. I’m signing up today. I am excited to see what God has in store for me!

  40. Jeanie Kelley says:

I have signed up for the study and looking forward to it. I also tweeted the three tweets. Please pray for Warren, my husband a new job. He is currently working temporarily doing taxes in St. Charles and it will end April 15. Another small request is that we can get this insurance taken care of as well. God has used Warren being out of work for me as a time to really rest in Him. I have found the strength to keep going even though I am ready to hunker down and hide. My favorite so that verse oh that is a hard one since I have been reading the Bible and looking for all the so that verses and it has been a lot. John 12:46 would have to be a good verse for me.

    • Jeanie, praying for each of your request now and for God our Provider to provide for your every need!!

      Blessings,

      Wendy

  41. I’m already signed up for the “So That” study! :)

My prayer request is for constant dizziness I have been dealing with for almost 2 months now. I recently found out through testing that I lost 28% of vestibular (balance) function in my right ear and that’s what is causing my issues. I’m going through vestibular therapy to try and train my brain to compensate for the ear damage now. God, our healer (Jehovah Rapha), promised to heal me over a month ago and I pray not only that He brings that to pass soon, but that I continue to trust Him as He works out in my life whatever He is using this trial for. Thank you!

I believe God will use this trial as a testimony to His healing power, love, faithfulness, peace, strength, all sufficiency, comfort, and every other way He has carried me through thus far.

My favorite “so that” verse right now is “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)

    • Christine, joining you as you stand before Jehovah Rapha and ask for perfect healing in your ear. I pray that our God of order will restore all order in your body…especially that related to your ear!! Praying for wisdom and discernment for doctors if that is how the Lord sees fit to heal.

      Blessings,

      Wendy

Please pray that their parents come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior so that He can take that family out of darkness and into the light. Thank you.

    Hi Wendy,
I have already signed up for the Living So That OBS and am purchasing the Kindle tablet version. Looking forward to another amazing opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My sister lived through a similar attack. She came home from work with her two children to find an unidentified man in her apartment waiting to attack her at knifepoint. He first locked each child in a separate room before attacking my sister sexually while holding a knife to her throat. He finally left and she called to police. This man was not caught due to his attack on her but years later was arrested for a different offense. She was asked to come down to identify him because he fit the description that she had give. This happened about 30 years ago. She has not talked about it since. I have often wondered how she’s dealt with it but I’m afraid to bring it up. I’m going to give her a copy of your book “Hidden Joy”. Do you think that’s a good idea? Please pray for her, her name is Roslind. Thanks for your courage and transparency, and your obedience to God.

    • Wow, what a story. I am praying for Roslind now and her children as that obviously left a scar for them as well. As one who’s read “Hidden Joy” I would highly recommend it. I believe God can and will speak to her through Wendy’s story and His Word written through all the pages of the book. Asking Him to use it to bring healing, comfort and transformation in your sister’s life.

  52. nancys1128 says:

I signed up when it was first announced. The book arrived and I’m ready to go next week. Looking forward to diving in deep.

  53. Caroline McGinnis says:

I am already signed up. Looking forward to this study.

  54. Your message today from James was very inspiring to me. All the trials and testing are from the Lord to mature us and make us MORE THAN Conquerers. I am sure your book is as riveting as your message today. May the Lord use your words of testimony to bring many to a mature faith that honors our Lord Jesus.

  55. Hello! My favourite so that verse is John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” Really looking forward to read your book, God bless!

  56. Martha T. says:

I am in need of prayer for wisdom. I am going to be picking out 2 cats(along with my sister)this Saturday. Rght now I am not at all sure what kind of cat I want. Thank you.

  57. Tiffany Tharpe says:

I enjoyed your post via the Proverbs 31 email this morning, and was compelled to follow the link to your blog concerning signing up for the Bible study. At first I did not know why I followed the link, as I knew that the Bible study would require having the book and I did not have the $15-$20 I was sure it would cost, to spare. As I listened to your video and read your blog post, I became more interested in the study, but still felt there was no way I could participate. However, as soon as I got to the part of your post saying that today was the last day to purchase the Kindle edition of the book for $2.99 I knew God was definitely at work. So, I purchased the book and I have signed up for the Bible study. I look forward to learning from you and drawing closer to God.
As for the SO THAT Bible verse that speaks to my life the most, it would have to be Psalm 119:71 – 72. “It was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn your decrees. The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold” (NIV). You see, almost 20 years ago, at the age of 15, I was injured in a diving accident at a local swimming pool that left me a quadriplegic. At the time of my accident, knowing and living for God was the furthest thing from my mind. However, through circumstances and new people in my life, God drew me to Him and I am now trying to live every day in honor of his loving sacrifice of his son. Knowing Jesus as Savior and trusting in God my Father has brought an element of peace to my life that is worth more than those thousands of pieces of silver and gold that the psalmist wrote about, and I know that it was from my affliction that I was led to turn to God and live in his peace. Although my life may not be easy, it is blessed and I live with the awesome knowledge that no matter what I may face on this earth I have an eternity of joyous piece in the presence of God to look forward to. God is so good.

    • Tiffany Tharpe says:

Forgive the typo in the last sentence (peace not piece) my voice recognition software made a glitch. LOL

  58. Kathy D. says:

I went through the faith filled challenge but at the time did not have the money to purchase the book. That inspired me and i recently purchased the nook version as if met my finances. I lost my husband ten years ago to cancer. At that time, i returned to my faith and every day that is what keeps me ticking. I suffer constant back pain and cannot work, but that does not define me. God gets me through it and has taught me to let go and let Him in. I constantly share all that i have experienced with the hope that another will trust and believe that He never leaves you. I am truly excited about this study and will get much from it. Thank you for listening. God bless..

  59. I’m back to share a bit about a trial that a song reminded me of this afternoon…sometimes trials come so that we can experience God in a way we never have before. Over 5 years ago we experienced a miscarriage that brought pain I had never known…I cried, hurt and asked why. I didn’t understand and I was angry that God didn’t intervene, but in my despair I dove into His arms and He was there. In trials we experience God’s presence and our faith grows. When life is good it’s easy to say God is good, but when life is hard and we can lean on Him, trust Him and praise Him a watching world can see our faith is real. Still trials are never easy and aren’t what we choose, but it’s something God can use and He has a purpose for the pain.
For those of you in the trial now, may you know you are being “Held” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeigPynPmIQ

    • Wow I can totally relate to this Jill when my son Nick was killed last Christmas Eve in a car accident. God was there, He held me up and I trust in Him that I will see Nick again one day in heaven!! Thanks for the beautiful song ♥

  60. Elizabeth L. says:

I have already registered and got the Kindle book a couple weeks ago! I am really looking forward to this study.

  61. MARILYN IN EAST TEXAS says:

    Hi Wendy,
I ordered your book, “Living so That-Making Faith-Filled Choicesin the Midst of a Messy Life” and had placed it in a drawer beside my bed and for all intent and purposes completely forgotten about it (since the OBS has not started yet). My heart and mind were churning with painful thoughts and memories of my messy life when for some reason I reached over and opened the drawer and saw your book. Your first message on the front flap was exactly what I needed to hear- “Stay focused; do not lose sight of mercy & truth…” Proverbs 3:3 (The Voice). I want to learn how to make faith-filled choices and stop making such poor life choices based on my initial knee jerk reactions and emotions.

  62. Alice Bower says:

I have signed up for the Bible Study.

  63. christina says:

I have already signed up for study! I am so excited! God has used me being a teen mom and being in an abusive relationship as a backdrop for his glory because with His help along with my church family, they helped in guiding me away from all that!

  64. I would really like to read her book. I am going through some dark days as I am battling PTSD from multiple sexual abuse. Her devotional today was encouraging.

  65. My daughter and I are signed up for the study. Can’t wait! I have suffered with chronic pain for 14 years due to degenerative disc disease. I felt God calling me to start a website/ministry for others living with chronic pain. The website is being developed/designed as we speak. I look forward to encouraging others. Trying times are definitely no fun. But God can turn our heartaches into hope and healing for others if we are willing and living a “so that’ life!

  66. Hi Wendy, I am already signed up and so excited to get started. I am so blessed, I won one of your books and conference calls from the photo hop on Made To Crave. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been so excited and sharing with my older daughter praying that she will sign up and join us for the study.
I am anxiously waiting for my book!

I wanted to share this scripture Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper

God is with us and will not leave us and whatever trials come against us He will be there to help us through, “SO THAT” we can live free!!!!

    Blessings,
    Anna

  67. Liz Chasse says:

I have already signed up for the online bible study. Can’t wait. The Lord I know can use our trials for our growth as well as for His glory. I lost my job several years ago; I just kept focused on God and through that trial I learned to trust God and was able to this day to share my story with others that are experiencing the same issues. He truly blessed me with a better job and a more intimate relationship with Him. Our Lord is so Good…..

    Sister in Christ,
    Liz

  68. Already signed up and so excited for this study Wendy, I know we are all going to be blessed!!! :)

  69. Yanna Westmoreland says:

I am so joyful! Today, I dropped a Living So That Book to a young college student whim I met in a local restaurant. I was hungry for food, she was my waitress and hungry for the Word! I am blessed to have won the book by one of the giveaways, if I were to win another I know God will find another seeking to know Him too! Thank you Wendy! Dessi and I are signed up and eager for April 6 to get here.

  70. Cherie K says:

I am signing up today! Please pray for my 8 year old granddaughter. She is having survey tomorrow to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. Thank you and many blessings!

  71. Wendy, I love your book Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner, it helped me get through my own sexual assault experience. I am looking forward to this next bible study with your new book!! Thank you for being such a blessing to me!!

  72. Already signed up for the online study and started reading my book yesterday. I’m so excited to start the study and have had to reign in my eagerness so I won’t get too far ahead. April 6th come soon!

  73. Jada Smith says:

Already signed up and looking forward to it! :)

  74. Yes, I signed up for the study when it was first announced and downloaded the kindle edition though I would rather have the paper copy!
I would appreciate prayer as I need strength and energy to do this study as I suffer from a neurodegenerative illness and hubby is going in for surgery for his shoulder next week!

  75. I have already signed up and gotten my book. I have also already received the free devotionals.

Praying that God might use me in a supernatural way to reach unsaved members of my family.

Several years ago I sustained an injury that required multiple surgeries and I was unable to work for a period of time. This time proves to be crucial to our family and my spiritual growth. I use it as an example of how God can use difficult situations as blessings in our lives.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that all who believe in Him might not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16 To me without this so that verse none of the others matter…

  76. I signed up today and really looking forward to this online bible study. Please pray for my husband who is having issues at work with non-believers. It has taken a toll on him and he is trying to stay strong.

  77. I have signed up for the Living So that study & plan to start reading over the weekend. I am looking forward to the study.

  79. Lisa Rettig says:

I have just signed up today for the Living So That study. I can’t wait. I even bought the Kindle book so I can start reading right away. Thank you so much for your heart for God’s word.

  80. Wendy, I have already been blessed with a book from a previous giveaway, but wanted to comment just to say I cannot wait for the study to begin. God has been using the trials and blessings of caring for my medically fragile grandson to teach me about trusting His plan for Andrew and to give my daughter and I the strength to not only provide Andrew’s care but to advocate for his education and special health care needs. As we three journey with Jesus, we have learned patience in prayer and to see Joy in all things. Above all, we have learned to have faith and believe, for with God all things are possible! Please keep Andrew in your prayers! My most loved so that verse is John 9:3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened SO THAT the works of God might be displayed in him.” (NIV)

  81. Thanks for the opportunity to win the book
I have signed up for the study but don’t have the book yet.
would love to win! Looking forward to starting the study.

Please keep my family in your prayers My parents have divorced. Thank you kindly!

  82. Hi..your message today spoke directly to my heart. I’m going through a divorce that’s not of my choice. The pain is agonizing and sometimes I just feel like dying to stop it. When I lost my first husband to cancer, we were married 8 years with a 7year old daughter. He did not choose to leave. My husband of 25 years chose to divorce instead of working on us. Hard for me to comprehend how to move forward. I feel like I have no purpose. I made a commitment to God that I would trust Him with everything …and quit believing the enemy’s lies about myself! Looking forward to the study. I tried to orswe the book on this website, but won’t let me confirm, so nor sure if I’ll get it. Any way to check? Thanks for your raw openness!!!!!

  83. Fannie Goldsmith says:

Some of the choices I have made in the past were not always the best but God has used those circumstances to grow me in my spiritual life. As I have heard it stated before, “What satan means for bad, God will use for good.” I am so thankful that He takes the bad as well as the good to draw us closer to Him and uses us to help others in their trials and tribulations.

  84. Please pray for me… struggling with depression.

  85. Stephanie Edwards says:

Signed up for the study and can’t wait for Sunday, April 6! My favorite “so that” verse is James 1:2-4. It comforts me to know that Christians go through trials for a reason and each one has a purpose. My prayer request is for my sister and I to be able to have the strength to continue to care for our dad who has Alzheimer’s. It is challenging to say the least and my sister is really struggling. She is not a Christian. Please pray for her.

  86. Cathy E says:

Just signed up for the study! Very excited and headed over to Facebook now to share with my friends. Praying we will all see and feel His touch as we grow through this study.

  87. Julie B says:

    Hebrews 10:34-36
You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

  88. I am already signed up for this great study and bought the book! Looking forward to this! I do have a personal struggle I’m going through and am trying to learn more about Gods word and to draw closer to him. Thank you for your great ministry!!

    M. Waters

  91. Paula Lloyd says:

Signed up for the study! Can’t wait for it to start!

  92. Sarah Triplett says:

I would love to take part in this study, but cannot afford the book right now. I just had to have a D&C on Friday, because I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and I am not sure how much my insurance will cover right now. This has been the hardest trial of my life and I need all the help I can get to make it through this. I just can’t some to come to grips that my precious baby is gone…………….

  93. Vanessa says:

My favorite text is 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

This text has definitely been a source of comfort to me in hard times! What a wonderful, gracious & compassionate Father we have. Praise be to Him!

  97. Patricia Fancher says:

Hi, I just sighned up. Needing to get my hands on a book yet.

    Looking forward to the study.

    Patricia

  98. I can’t wait to dig in with everyone when the study begins! I’ve already been reading, but I look forward to seeing how LST is moving in the hearts of others….THOUSANDS of others!

I don’t have a particular prayer request and I’m praying for everyone who will be joining the LST study!

My trials have been minor in comparison, but I hope I’ve been able to live out II Corinthians 1:4.

I can’t think of my favorite so that verse, I’ll have to keep my heart open to the one God wants me to impress on my heart. In the meantime, I’m memorizing the ones listed in each of the LST chapters.

  99. Signed up for this Bible study a while ago…..so excited that it’s finally almost here! Looking forward to what God’s gonna do through it. :)

  100. Signed up! Looking forward to learning how God can use me.

  102. Hey Wendy,

I’ve already signed up for the bible study online and i really can’t wait for it.
My favorite verse is Hebrews 4:16, knowing no what i can boldly come to the throne of grace and talk to my daddy.

Thank you for writing this book, I look forward to winning a copy so read the other chapters.

  103. I have already signed up for this study! I think I signed up the very day I received the invitation in my email. My husband and I are trying to start a family and it means so much to us that we get to have children. The Bible says that children are a blessing from the Lord. Please pray that God would bless us mightily!!!

  104. Sheila Watson says:

Yes I’ve signed up on P31OBS.
My prayer request is that I can learn more and grow closer to our Glorious Father.
The turning point in my life was when i got my DWI. I was trying so hard to “fit in” and balance that lifestyle with church. God showed me how i couldn’t have both worlds and it was time to take a look into myself.
I would use Hebrews. 4:16 As my so that verse.

  105. Donna W says:

I just signed up thanks to my friend Cheryl who let me know about this study! I’m very excited! My prayer request is for my Dad, who has cancer. Thank you for joining me in prayer!

  106. Sue Olson says:

” Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another SO THAT you will be healed!” I’m presently doing a Bible study on “therefore” – “one another” – and “so that” and this verse all 3! James 5:16.

  107. Hi, Wendy–I’m looking forward to your OBS study of Living so That. I have already signed up!

I ask for prayer for God to open my eyes to His grace, healing and overwhelming love for me–for all of us! And that my physical symptoms of stress in the past 3 months would dissipate–high BP, chronic headaches and fatigue– and that I could learn to manage it better in a spiritual way.

    Thank you.

  112. I am doing P31 Living so that Bible study. I was curious if you have a lost anywhere of all the so that’s in the Bible. This study really wet my appetite to do some further study.

    • So glad you have enjoyed being in God’s Word with the “so thats.” No, I don’t have a list. What I did was read through my Bible…the entire New Testament…before I started writing and underlined and circled them all! Wish I could share my Bible, but I don’t think there is a way to do that!! :)
