  5. Orenda Smith says:

Congrats Wendy! My favorite so that verse is: For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–His eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20

      Thank you for sharing!!

      Wendy

    My favorite “so that” verse:
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. – Romans 15:4

Thank you for blessing me with your wisdom, words and love of Christ! Celebrating, sharing and praying for your release party today!

  11. Jayne Schneider says:

My favorite “so that” verse is:

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” ~1 Corinthians 10:13

It reminds to always look for a way out because God will always provide one.

Congratulations on the book! Cannot wait to read it.

  12. Wendy!
I am dancing on the mountaintop with you!

“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, SO THAT everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

    Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this AMAZING, appointed day for “Living So That…” to be in the hands of the women You have called. Through Wendy’s love for You and her obedience to Your call, she has let her good deeds shine out for all of us to see SO THAT we will all praise YOU! And that’s what we are doing in a strong, unified voice… Praising You with all of our excitement and anticipation. Let this study be Your love letter to all of us. We do live messy lives, but You can transform them to be Christ-centered and faith-filled. Bless Wendy with the confidence in knowing she has followed Your lead. And YOU are the one she’s working for, far above human masters. You already promised her that Your word will not return void. So, Lord, we are asking that the outcomes in each reader’s life would be EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY above what she can ask or think! We trust this all to You now.
    In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Love you so much friend! xoxo

    • Noelle, thank you for your beautiful prayer offered on my behalf and on behalf of #LivingSoThat. I stand in agreement with you for all that you have prayed. One of my favorite “so that” verses:

    2 Corinthians 1:4 (NLT) |
4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

    Such a great verse.

Blessings to you for writing this Bible study and to those who helped you along the way “so that” it would come to this. Blessings to those who read and share the book “so that” they may also, in turn, bless others.

    • Cynthia, this is one of my life verse prayers…such a great promise from God that when we go through suffering…it has great purpose…He will use it to comfort others. Thank you for sharing this verse with us today and for your sweet blessings!!

      Wendy

  17. Jennifer says:

I am excited to read this book Wendy! My favorite so that verse is John 3:16.

  18. Christy Barber says:

My all time favorite verse is John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

  26. Carrie Carlsen says:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

I read Chapter 1 and I am hungry for more!! So powerful. Thank you Wendy for your beautiful way of expressing God’s word.

  27. Congratulations on Your release day!

    God Bless You Wendy!
    Amy

  28. Rosemarie says:

I am so excited about the release of this book. Have been blessed by your writing many times. I would have to say my favorite “so that” verse is James 1:4 “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” God Bless you Wendy, and thank you for all that you do for His kingdom.

  29. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, *SO THAT you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of CHRIST, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through JESUS CHRIST, to the GLORY and PRAISE of GOD. Philippians 1:9,*10,11

Studying Philippians this week and love Paul’s prayer and words of encouragement to the church. Paul knew and our Lord sure knows that we will never be perfect but in such joyful obedience to God, may we be found pure and blameless when Christ returns, increasing our likeness to Christ. May He alone be glorified through the release and distribution of “Living so that…”

  30. Yay! So excited for you and your release and for all the people who will be blessed by reading your book, by your willingness to love the Lord and follow His lead in your life!

I read my current favorite “so that” verse in August 2013 for the first time. Since then, it has come back to me in many occasions and it continues to be a great source of comfort in my life.

I normally opt for the NIV but for “so that”, I’m using the Holman Christian Standard Bible.

“A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” John 10:10 (HCSB)

  31. Cherie K says:

Hi Wendy! My favorite is John 10:10 Jesus cam so that we may have life TO THE FULL – not a half filled frustrating life. Our hope must be in HIm and then we will be filled with His joy – no matter the circumstance. Praise God for His ever loving and awesome grace He gives us. Thank you for your Bible study ministries!!

  32. I praise God for answered prayers, His faithfulness, and the open door that is going to bless so many women through your new book. I loved reading your email and I am so joy-filled with you!

I am thankful for you, Wendy, your heart, your obedience to God’s call in writing and your perseverance. And I’m thanking God for all these women who God is bringing to your new book and all of these beautiful, heartfelt comments.

Which leads me to my favorite “So that” verse:
“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing”.

How I long to be more mature in Christ and to learn to endure every trial/test with faith and perseverance.

  33. Ashley Thompson says:

    John 17:23
I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

  34. Missy Ashford says:

So excited to do this study! You inspire and challenge me often. Many blessings and congratulations!
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13 NIV)

  35. WOW…I LOVED reading all the comments and finding the treasure in so many “so that” verses!!! Thank you all for sharing!

I thought I’d choose one that I don’t think has been mentioned yet, 1 John 2:28: “And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.” Oh how I long to “continue in Him” every moment of every day.

The title of this book is so captivating: Living so that. Congratulations!
    Blessings, love and prayers,
    Joy

  36. Janet F says:

Praising God for you Wendy and for the release of your new book. Congratulations!!! You are a blessing Wendy. ♥ Thank you for being obedient to God and being a light for Him. My “so that” verse has been a blessing to me since my son Nick died on Christmas Eve. God does comfort me and I pray I will be a comfort to others that He brings my way.

    ~2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

  37. Congratulations Wendy, so excited for you. You are such an encouragement and I cant wait to read your book…… Chapter one is amazing, love the verses, and the questions really make you stop and think ;o)

My favorite so that scripture is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, (so) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life…AMEN!

Jesus came “so that” I could live! He saved me a sinner so unworthy, and for that I am so grateful.

I love Amazing Grace! He will my shield and portion be..

    Blessings Anna

  38. Chargaile Askew says:

Wendy, I am so thrilled about the release of your book. I am sure you know just how happy I am for you, there is no one that deserves this special day of celebration more than you. This is just the beginning of many more celebration days to follow.

So many favorite “so that” verses but this one is another special one because it is a preview of our coming Savior.

“Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways ‘so that’ a banished person does not remain banished from him”. 2 Samuel 14:14

  39. Congratulations Wendy and thanks for being such a blessing!
Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the full armour of God ‘so that’ you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

  40. My favorite so that: John 10:10 I have come so that you may have life and life abundantly!

  41. We are so blessed by the Lord through the pouring out of your ministering words. And like my favorite “so that” verse, 2 Corinthians 1:4, you were given a gift of teaching and exhortation so that others may be encouraged and spurred on to do good works.

~2 Corinthians 1:3-4 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.

  42. There are so many but today this one comes to mind
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] John 16:33 ( Amplified)

  43. Valerie says:

So happy to have this email about your new book – definately going into my cart.

My verse for this Lenten season is Proverbs 5:1-2:

    My child, be attentive to my wisdom;
incline your ear to my understanding,
2 so that you may hold on to prudence,
and your lips may guard knowledge.

  44. Marisha says:

Congratulations, Wendy!! I pray that this book (and most importantly God thru it) will bless all its readers and you abundantly.
As to ‘so that’ verses…of course I like the one that says that Jesus came so that we may have life.
And another great reminder is tucked in Hebrews 2:1 “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”

  45. Eph 6:2-3 Honor your mother and your father- this is the first commandment with a promise: so that it will be well with you and you may live long on the earth.

  46. Congrats Wendy! I love the verse you share in your devotional:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work SO THAT you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4, NIV, emphasis added)

Really need to hide that one in my heart for my next trial!

  47. Jeanette Bush says:

My favorite Bible verse is I Samuel 15:22b; “…to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” I love this account of Samuel’s instructions to Saul. So many times I think what I am doing is ‘right’ and will be a ‘sacrifice’ unto the Lord. But unless it is what He has instructed me to do, it is not always acceptable unto Him. It’s a lesson that I must constantly review. Thank you for the devotionals you have shared from this new book. They are challenging me!

  48. Allison Crow says:

Jeremiah 29:11-12. .. ..”For I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future so that you will call on me and come and pray to me so that I will listen to you.”

  49. Katja Boehm says:

…so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus…
    Acts 20:24

  50. Martha T. says:

This is going to be a tough day so John 16:33 would be my favorite so that verse.

  51. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
    Lord, who could stand?

But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you. Psalm 130:3-4

Thank you Wendy for your books and your teachings. :)

  52. Lisa McDonald says:

I pre-ordered my copy a while back and am expecting it to be delivered today. I ordered it from P31 Ministries. Will it still be signed? I wasn’t sure if that just started now, and I missed it.

  53. Kaitlyn says:

One of my favorite new Scriptures is John 3:30:

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”

I’ve really enjoyed exploring the definitions of these words for a deeper understanding of this verse and considering ways to apply it further in my life.

  54. Jennifer Ward says:

    My fav bible verse is:

Philippians 4:13 (NIV) I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

  55. Donna Lynch says:

One of my favorite verses is James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

  56. Theresa Frerking says:

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life. Philippians 2:14-16a

  57. Wendy,
I was SO excited to find out that this book was coming out. Your Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner was life changing fo rme! I have participated in your on-line studies and can’t even begin to find the words to express how they have enabled and encouraged me to grow in Christ! Wow! Thank you!!

    My favorite “so that” verse:
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing your love of Christ with so many!!

  58. andrea t. says:

Let your conversation be gracious and attractive *so* *that* you will have the right response for everyone.

    Gonna love this one!
    ((cheese))

  59. I’m looking forward to reading this book, Wendy, and being a part of the Proverbs 31 Ministries online Bible study in April; studying alongside other women from around the world!

You’ve sparked my interest with searching for my favorite “so that” scripture. In my searches online I’ve copied down many that are so poignant, but this is one of my favorites that I’ve come across because of who spoke it and His righteous power to save us from the weight of darkness.

“Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. 47 I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. John 12:44-47

  60. Lynnette says:

John 16:33. This world is not our home! Looking forward to this book!

  61. 1 Peter 4:11
Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
I will be buying your book after my 21 day spending fast is over. Unfortunately it ends the day after you stop selling signed copies. Oh well, I will still get to read a great book and hopefully share it with others. I am sharing your 5 day devotion with my brother who is prison so he can share it with others. May God bless you as you endeavor to do his will. Let your light shine, sister!

  62. andrea stansbury says:

I love John 10:10 I have come so that you may have life and life abundantly!

He doesn’t just want us to have enough… which for the longest time was my prayer… but to have an abundance

  63. “These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” I Peter 1:17

I am excited about reading your new book!

  64. Christina says:

    Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

  65. 1 John 5:13″ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” What an awesome God! I also love Jeremiah 29:11-12 ”11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

  66. Kathleen Bennefield says:

Congratulations!!! Trying to decide if I want to continue studing my Made to Crave (til it is thoroughly engrained!!!) or move on to your study!!!
    Matthew 5:16
“Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, SO THAT everyone will praise your Heavenly Father”

  67. So that I will never be alone or unloved….

    Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  68. Pamela Butman says:

John 15:11 I have told you this So That my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. Love this verse. To have joy and be complete in Jesus in every area in my life is what important to me. Looking forward to this bible study. Congratulations on your new book. May God Bless all that read it.

  69. Can’t wait for this study with pbs31! My favorite
Verse is Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ!

    Hi, Wendy,
I think I finally found the right place to post my comment. Congratulations on having your book published. I signed up to receive your devotions for 5 days. Thanks for sharing on your great video. I plan on joining the next OBS Bible study using your book. I like John chapter 10 where Jesus talks about being the Good Shepherd. I really like John 10:10 where Jesus says that He came so that we may have life and live it to the fullest. It is comforting to me to think that I am His sheep and that Jesus is my Shepherd. I also like Psalm 23. The Lord is my Shepherd so that I may dwell in His house forever. Blessings. Janine
