We’re ending today with a quote I found from one of my favorite preachers and teachers, Dr. David Jeremiah. It’s from his Bible Study, “Why the Nativity?”

“If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness and so God sent us a Savior.”

Praising God for this gift!!! The prayer of my heart for you is that each of you may you experience, in ways you never have before, the love and presence of our Savior, Emmanuel this Christmas season.

    • Wen, it truly amazes me to think the Lord took Hidden Joy to you…so far, far away from Charlotte NC…and used it to speak into your brokenness. And now you have taken what God has done in your life and shared it with others. Our God is SO MUCH BIGGER than we can ever imagine. I love that we are sisters FOREVER!!!

      Christmas Blessings sweet Wen,

  3. Thank you Wendy! Your sharing has blessed me today. It is so wonderful to see when God has been faithful. It’s too easy to stay in the pit of misery and not see the blessings that He pours out on us. When you can see the Hand of God working it is so exciting and just proves even more that He is our Emmanuel! Blessings for your very Merry CHRISTmas!

    • Amen, Cherie! What you said is powerful…”It’s too easy to stay in the pit of misery and not see the blessings that He pours out on us.” WE MUST OPEN OUR EYES TO SEE HIS HAND AT WORK. When we do, that is when His work can really begin in our lives.

Have a Blessed and Joyous Christmas,

  4. Loved your video Wendy! Your teaching always goes to the heart! I am thankful I’m one of the hearts God has connected with yours. I believe I could have written a similar note about how He brought your book to Iowa. So grateful it was part of His plans to take it a step further and bring you and your teaching here as well. I know your insight into Emmanuel will stay with me this Christmas!

You wrote your prayer for us, me, was to experience God’s presence…He’s answering that one! Yesterday the kids and I were making cut-out cookies and as I washed the cutters, some of which belonged to my grandma, grief hit. This morning I even woke a bit sad, but then opened my “Daily Light” book to read – “The Lord is in your midst.” (Zeph. 3:15) and “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain.” (Rev. 21:3-4) I moved from a place of grief to being overwhelmed by God’s presence and goodness!!

Thanks for your prayers and this study!! Always a joy to learn from you and study with all who gather here!! Christmas blessings back to you!

    • Jill, the VERY SAME DAY God gave you that verse from Zephaniah 3:15, He gave it to me as well for something I was going through…it spoke right to the cry of my heart. I LOVE when He does that!!

Have a blessed and joyous Christmas. Give my love to my Iowa sisters!!

  5. Thank you for the study of God’s names. Knowing them is so important for us in our daily walk and growth. God bless and a merry Christmas to you and your family.
Also, a merry Christmas blessing to other members.

    • Christmas Blessings back to you. Thank you so much for joining us for this study. I have learned so much from all of you through this journey!

Have a blessed and joyous Christmas,

  6. Emmanuel. Oh Wendy. I need this wisdom to settle deep in my heart. I’m in the midst of a journey that I never thought I’d be in. My heart has been so burdened, and I feel like I’m having to work so hard just to BE. But, the moment I feel alone (even when I’m with my closest loved ones), I need to know Emmanuel… God is with me… with us. I’m not alone! THANK YOU for this study. Thank you for your heart to let God work in an through you in such powerful ways. I love you!

    • Dear Noelle,

Praying for your journey and that you me know that the God who was, who is, and who is to come is with you all the time. He in you and you in Him so that you are fully surrounded in and by and with God! Let Him carry you through..

      Deut 1:30,31
30 Yahweh your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, 31 and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that Yahweh your God bore you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.

See God is fighting for you and carrying you the same time like a man carries his son and brings you to that place which is the land of milk and honey!

      With love,

    • I love you back, sweet friend, and am PRAYING fervently for God to do a mighty work in the situation you are walking through. Our God is FAITHFUL. He IS…the STRENGTH of your heart and your PORTION forever. He is a SHIELD about you. He will NEVER EVER leave you or forsake you!!

      Christmas Blessings to you,

  7. Thank you so much for your devotions and Bible studies. I’m looking so forward to your next study and I pray that God will bless you and your family during the New Year. The Lord has convicted me of some much-needed heart changes through your devotions and I thank you for your devotion to HIM and to all the women, including myself, that are blessed by God through your words. I pray that our Heavenly Father will bless you as He has blessed me through your words.

    • Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. They bless me so much!!! And thank you for your prayers. I treasure each and every one as this new book comes out!!

  8. Wendy,

I pray God’s blessings for you and your ministry. Reading your New Year’s Prayer was and is a great blessing for me because spiritually I was in a desert place before reading it. I shared it with my friends all over the United States.

    • Arlethia, I am so thankful the Lord used the prayer to bless you and thank you for sharing it with your friends! That means so much to me!!!

      Happy New Year!
