My Morning Prayer (+Cindy’s winner)

Happy Monday!

Mornings now don’t look like they did when both my kids were at home. Our mornings were busy, and sometimes all I had time for was a quick prayer. So, I thought I would share the prayer I often prayed on those busy mornings. It brings back sweet memories.

My Morning Prayer

Lord, I don’t know who or what will cross my path today. But I do know that You are my Rock and my Fortress. You are my Shield and my Strong Tower. Help me to anchor myself to You today. Teach me how to stand strong in You and choose only Your way today. Help me walk by Your Truth and not my feelings.

Help me to embrace anything that comes my way as an opportunity to see You at work and as an opportunity to point others to You.

Thank You that You love me and nothing can ever take that away from me! Even if I fail today and fall short, You whisper Your unconditional love deep into my soul and remind me that Your mercies are new every morning.

That is truly amazing, Lord.

Thank You for meeting with me today and wake me again tomorrow with the same sweet whisper of Your love. I can’t wait to meet with You again. I ask all this in the powerful and majestic Name of Your Son, Jesus! Amen.

Please don’t fret if you can’t spend extended time in the Word each morning, reading and praying. God simply wants us to give Him our first thoughts of the day … whatever that looks like. Maybe it’s meeting Him in our First 5 App. Maybe it’s reading your favorite devotional. Maybe it’s spending time with a few verses before you jump out of bed. Or maybe it’s offering a morning prayer. He loves it all!!

I’d love to hear YOUR favorite way to meet with God in the morning. Please leave a comment and share with us.

  1. Good morning Wendy, thank you for sharing your prayer☺ I thank God for another day say a prayer, then I share prayers on Facebook to encourage my friends and family. I get up get my husband off to work, and then it’s First 5!!!!!!! I absolutely love it, I spend time soaking in what I read, I journal, and then off to do what needs to be done. God has given me such peace, especially when things get so crazy. I’ve learned how important it is to be still, to speak to Him to wait and listen. God is faithful❤

  2. Thank you for this, Wendy. Your message spoke to me because I felt totally bummed that I missed my morning routine. I woke up later than usual. I have to wake up an hour and a half before my kids to give myself that time with God and today, my 13 year old woke ME up. Thank you for this prayer! Thank you for this post! ❤️

  3. Amen! I like to grab my warm lemon water and go to my prayer rocking chair with my Bible. I sit and give Him the first 15 minutes to speak to my heart ior to just be still in His presence. Then I read my daily Bible reading and pray, sing to Him and just thank Him for another day to do His will. Giving all to Him. Sometimes I spend 2 hours and sometimes it can get cut short to a half an hour but for me, without this, I am scrambling through my day with some bad attitudes. So I don’t like to miss my Jesus time and I guard it with my very life💕💕💕

  4. Amen! Amen!

I needed this prayer this morning!!

    AND I’m the winner!!! YAY!

Thank you SO much! It could NOT have come at a better time.
I’ve been battling Lupus this week and craving His Word and His promises!
I’ve lived Cindy’s life and been a single momma for all of these years. I’m ready for THIS to be the year of complete healing from the past, abuse, sickness and weaknesses.

    I love this ministry….Thank you!!!!

  5. Thank you for this prayer Wendy. It was a good start to my day…one that’s been a bit emotional with new news on our little nephew. So thankful we can always cry out to our heavenly Father! Blessings to you!

  6. Wendy, your prayers are always oxygen to my spirit! Thank you! My quiet times have become more of a Father-daughter dance these days. They used to be more mechanical… reading from either a plan or reading a specific amount of scripture, then journaling, then prayer. I do center myself with scripture, but from there, the Holy Spirit might lead me to draw in an art journal… or pray as I worship through intense cardio… or sing at the top of my lungs… I’m learning to let the Holy Spirit lead… and I can finally learn to step on my Daddy’s feet, close my eyes and enjoy the dance. I love you friend. xoxo

  7. Erin Powell says:

Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, set up your kingdom in my midst.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Holy Spirit, breath of the Living God, renew me and all the world.
