What Others are Saying . . .

Lisa Allen and Wendy Blight of Proverbs 31 Ministries brought high power and emotion to our 2014 conference, Shimmer: A Spirit-Filled Life. Lisa’s energetic explanation of the DISC temperaments and Wendy’s moving personal testimony made our conference a life-changing event for those who attended. The feedback we have received is overwhelming! Ladies are using their new found knowledge of their temperaments to better understand how to best function within their families and circle of friends. With Wendy’s powerful testimony, we have had ladies lay down strongholds that have held them captive for years! With this new found freedom, these ladies are walking in the powerful light of knowing they are blood-bought baby girls of the one true God! Thank you, Proverbs 31, for sharing such amazing speakers with she Ministries at Calvary Albuquerque.

I can’t express how blessed I have been through Wendy’s Living So That message. Through it I found my way back to God. I got her book, and unlike other books that I finish and put on the shelf, to get dusty or give away, this one will remain close so that I can go back and read all of my notes, pages and words that gave me a way to bring Jesus back into my life. Her powerful stories and Scriptures have made a huge difference in my life.

I know in the depths of my heart that Wendy’s story was handpicked by God for me. I don’t even know how to put it into words. Every time I look back where I was, how I was horribly stuck in letting pain, hurt and fear rule my heart, how I was stuck being angry at God…I will always remember how her words, her story, her courage and her strength touched my heart and broke through all the strongholds that had taken over. And the way she pointed me to God’s Word as the key – well that gave my journey a starting point. A journey that I desperately needed to embark upon. Wendy’s testimony and her heart allowed me to get up off my mat and approach God to begin healing. And when I’m tempted to get back on my mat, which seems like the easier thing to do some days, her words inspire me not to. I have made spending time with God a priority because of her.

So much of what Wendy shared has stuck with me, and I have already started to transform my life. She taught us that seeking God’s will is an active pursuit. After hearing her message, I am seriously considering giving up a major responsibility because I don’t feel like it is what I’m being called to do. I hadn’t been seeking God’s will in the situation. Wendy taught us how to find God’s will through His Word. When she did that, she expressed the enormous freedom she found in it so passionately that it made me want to grasp some of the freedom and joy she found in responding to God’s call of something larger than herself…even when that call took her from a comfortable place to an uncomfortable place.

Wendy allowed our moms to read and process God’s Word for themselves, some for the first time. They understood time with God is not a task to check off but an opportunity to sit and allow God to wash them with His powerful Word and work in their lives wherever they are. She is real and did not pretend to be perfect. It was refreshing and encouraging for our women because she made what she has in Christ seem real and attainable. Her honesty, vulnerability, and tenderness as she shared stories from her past and as a mother, allowed the women to translate it to their lives. She is a woman after God’s heart, and I am thankful that she blessed us with her words, time, and beauty.
